About The Position
The Crossing Guard helps children cross the street safely while traveling to and from Canyon View school. This part-time role is performed outdoors on school days and requires morning and afternoon coverage, Monday through Friday. The schedule totals 7.5 hours per week. The position pays $21 per hour, provides paid school holidays, and has summers off. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Energetic and reliable, with an enjoyment of being outdoors and greeting the community.
- Regular and prompt attendance is essential.
- Must have mobility to intervene in situations that present danger to children or oneself.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the school crossing zone at the beginning of each shift by turning on flashing lights and placing warning cones in the street.
- Help children safely cross the street as they arrive, watching traffic closely and stopping cars if necessary.
- Remove warning cones and turn off flashing lights at the end of each shift.
