About The Position

The District Crossing Guard provides street-crossing services for students at the assigned crosswalk at Perkins Street and Lowell Street. The position works three hours per school day during the school year (180 days): 6:30–8:00 a.m. and 2:00–3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The listed hourly rate is $18.80. The role monitors the crosswalk, follows current methods and regulations, and reports safety concerns and other problems to the appropriate school personnel.

Requirements

• Must pass a Massachusetts criminal background check.
• Be proficient in current methods and regulations.

• Bilingualism is highly desired but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the assigned crosswalk and provide street-crossing services for students.
• Report problems to the location-specific Principal and Lead Crossing Guard.
• Report and recommend responses to safety-related issues to the Lead Crossing Guard.
• Comply with all local laws and procedures.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the School District.
