As a full-time Surgery Cross Trained Assistant, you will work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (Wednesday off) from 6:30am - 5:00pm. No weekends or holidays required! This position qualifies for our full-time benefits package and our rewarding quarterly bonuses!

Job Mission: The Surgery Cross Trained Assistant holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses and/ or anesthesia provider by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, comfort measures and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of an RN and/ or anesthesia provider. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes. Also performs the housekeeping, transportation, and courier duties for the surgical services area.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Anesthesia technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cross-trained to perform both Patient Care Technician and Anesthesia Technician duties within the operating room
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, OR turnover, anesthesia turnover, specimen transport, and stocking supplies.
• Position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving patients, beds, and equipment.
• Must be comfortable working in a surgical environment and able to tolerate exposure to blood, bodily fluids, surgical procedures, and other potentially unpleasant sights or smells.
