About The Position

The Cross Country Ski Guide is responsible for delivering world-class Nordic skiing experiences during the winter season. This role includes maintaining and grooming trails, leading guided ski tours for guests of all levels, and supporting the training of additional guides to ensure a consistent 5-star guest experience.

Requirements

Advanced Nordic skiing proficiency, with the ability to instruct classic and skate skiing techniques.
Strong interpersonal and teaching skills with the ability to lead both private and group experiences.
Ability to assess weather, snow, and terrain to make safe guiding decisions.
Comfortable working in remote, cold environments for extended periods.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in guiding or outdoor leadership (Nordic skiing or related field).
CPR and First Aid certification (Wilderness First Aid or WFR preferred).
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience developing or training program staff preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead guided cross-country ski outings tailored to guest interests and skill levels.
Plan and execute interpretive and instructional experiences, including basic technique and backcountry etiquette.
Conduct pre-trip equipment checks, guest briefings, and safety reviews.
Communicate regularly with the Outdoor Pursuits Manager and Supervisor regarding trail conditions, equipment needs, and guest feedback.
Ensure adherence to environmental and safety best practices, including Leave No Trace principles.
Work independently or as part of a team in varying weather and snow conditions.
Assist with snow shoveling, gear maintenance, and occasional support of other winter activities as needed.
