About The Position

Contra Costa Christian Schools (CCCS) is seeking a qualified and motivated coach to lead our Middle School Cross Country team. This is an Independent Contractor role for the Fall 2026 season (August 10th - November). The Middle School Cross Country team typically holds practices every week Monday - Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30pm. The position offers a competitive stipend and the flexibility to help shape and grow a successful cross country program within an expanding athletic department. CCCS is committed to providing student-athletes with high quality coaching across all sports. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cross country running, with an emphasis on both technical instruction and fundamentals. Additionally, the ideal coach will bring a collaborative leadership style, strong communication skills, and a broad understanding of training strategies and competitive techniques. The ability to adapt to the team’s needs and emphasize athletes strengths while supporting individual development is essential for success as a coach. In addition, a successful coach has an effective leadership style, strong communication with vast knowledge of various approaches and strategies. The coach must have an adaptable approach to the sport highlighting the strengths of the team while encouraging skill development.

Requirements

• CPR Certification
• Valid CA Driver License
• Willingness to undergo a Background Screen
• Willingness to complete a TB Test prior to starting work and being paid
