About The Position

This position requires you to be on the road 10 to 14 days at a time, averaging 10,000 to 12,000 miles per month, available for dispatch 24 days a month. Resets on the road as required. Running open-board, Canada/U.S. long-haul. Southbound freight could depart from any of our Bison locations into any of the lower 48 states. Northbound freight could go into any of the Canadian Provinces and Territories. Must be able to drive to Alaska if required 12 months a year. Required to drive in B.C. including Highway 1 and Highway 3, 12 months a year. Flexible schedules requiring weekend departures. Regional freight will be required. Must be able to haul all commodities including meat and alcohol.

Requirements

• Owner-Operator with 24 months tractor-trailer experience
• Tractor must be equipped with a DEF system
• Must be U.S. qualified
• Minimum of 6 months U.S. driving experience
• Minimum of 6 months B.C. Mountain experience
• Must be able to work weekends
• Must have a valid Class 1/AZ License
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
• Reliable, flexible, and punctual
• Strong communication skills
• Values safety
• Registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse

Responsibilities

• Run open-board, Canada/U.S. long-haul
• Transport freight from any Bison location into the lower 48 states
• Transport freight into any Canadian Provinces and Territories
• Drive to Alaska if required 12 months a year
• Drive in B.C. including Highway 1 and Highway 3, 12 months a year
• Handle regional freight
• Haul all commodities including meat and alcohol
• Lift 50 lbs. or more, with driver assist required on occasion
