About The Position

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Crop Insurance Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you’ll support agents, partners, and internal teams throughout the policy lifecycle. You’ll be a key part of ensuring that our crop insurance products are delivered accurately, efficiently, and with exceptional customer service.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus.
One to three years of relevant experience in underwriting, insurance processing, agriculture, customer service, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to work accurately with detailed information and maintain organized records.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and respectful manner.
Working proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (including Excel, Outlook, and Word) and the ability to learn underwriting or related systems.
Ability to present information and engage with groups in a professional and inclusive manner.
Commitment to delivering a positive customer experience, with a thoughtful and solution‑oriented approach to problem solving.
Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team, demonstrate adaptability, and engage in ongoing learning.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment, with appropriate guidance and support.

Responsibilities

Learn, apply, and maintain knowledge of RMA regulations and established deadlines, including sales closing, acreage reporting, and production reporting, with appropriate training and resources provided.
Accurately enter, review, and audit policy information in underwriting systems for assigned territories, products, and agencies.
Develop and maintain working knowledge of crop types and insurance plans within assigned regions.
Build and sustain collaborative, professional relationships with assigned agents through clear communication and mutual accountability.
Provide training, guidance, and problem‑resolution support to agents and insureds in a respectful and service‑oriented manner.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with partners in sales, claims, accounting, and technology to deliver consistent and high‑quality service.
Contribute to underwriting production goals, including policy volume and premium targets, in alignment with team objectives.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Identify and resolve internal and FCIC error listings accurately and in alignment with established timelines and procedures.
Organize and maintain policy files in accordance with documented processing guidelines.
Support managers and team initiatives by contributing to special projects or assignments as business needs evolve.
