About The Position

We are excited for you to apply to our Crop Insurance Agent position in Ionia or Grand Rapids. Our Crop Insurance Agents also assist in the development and implementation of crop insurance sales plans and provide technical guidance and product support to the Customer Teams in assigned regions. The incumbent may also be asked to conduct individual and group product educational demonstrations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1+ years of experience in the agriculture or in the insurance field with an agriculture background.
  • Must acquire and maintain an insurance license for crop insurance sales and meet all State and Federal annual requirements.
  • 40-50% daytime travel within assigned territory.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in business, agriculture, finance or related majors is preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance principles and practices, insurance processing and servicing activities is desired.
  • Knowledge of appropriate insurance regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of crop insurance sales plans.
  • Provide technical guidance and product support to Customer Teams in assigned regions.
  • Conduct individual and group product educational demonstrations.
  • Provide quality sales and service to specialty crop growers all over Michigan.
  • Work closely with a team of agents and processors, producers, and insurance companies.
  • Conduct farm visits.
  • Educate producers on the best risk management options for their farm.
  • Build new policies and service renewals.
  • Map producer's orchards.
  • Audit current policies.
  • Be engaged through community and agricultural events.
