About The Position

CRNA manages patient during procedure; will perform anesthesia on all ages. Skills required: Labor epidural, comfort with central line placement preferable but not required. Types of cases: bread and butter includes OB, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, healthy pediatrics, outpatient surgery, occasional thoracic, trauma and regional anesthesia; will insert lumbar epidural catheters, administer spinal anesthesia and will sometimes administer Axillary Brachial Plexus Blocks; though not typical, CRNA may perform other procedures and provide assistance as needed. Practice model: care team and independent practice. Cases are a mix of direction – supervision and independent. Position offers a lot of autonomy. Regular OR hours are 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, first staff in is first staff out at end of day. CRNA schedule will be a mix of 24-hour shifts and 8 hour days for a total of 40 hours per week. Department Numbers: 6 full time anesthesiologists, 9 full time CRNAs, 1 part time CRNA, 3 anesthesia techs. Call requirement: 1:9. CRNA rotation covers 1st first call Su-Fr and 2nd call Saturday. CRNA is off the day after being on 1st call.

Requirements

  • Compassionate and skilled Anesthesiologist.
  • Ability to provide exceptional perioperative care.
  • Comfort with central line placement is preferable but not required.
  • Experience with Labor epidural.
  • Ability to manage patients during procedures.
  • Ability to perform anesthesia on all ages.
  • Ability to insert lumbar epidural catheters.
  • Ability to administer spinal anesthesia.
  • Ability to administer Axillary Brachial Plexus Blocks.
  • Ability to perform other procedures and provide assistance as needed.
