About The Position

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking CRNAs with great communication and interpersonal skills to join the Anesthesiology team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL. Highlights of the Opportunity: A full-time CRNA is expected to cover 176 shifts annually, with additional pay for extra shifts. Diverse mix of cases including Cardiac, Endo, General Surgery, Neuro, OB, Oncology, Ortho, Robotics, Spine, Vascular, and Level II Trauma. Staffing model planned is 40+ Anesthesiologists, and 100+ CRNAs covering 70+ sites including Cath Lab, IR, Endo. Average anesthesia volume is 65,000 cases annually. Physicians will have oversight of CRNA’s.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate degree (DNP or DNAP) of Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs
  • APRN State of Florida Licensure - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
  • American Heart Association BLS/PALS/ACLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • CRNA: Cert Reg Nurse Anesthetist
  • FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • BLS: Basic Life Support

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in administration of anesthesia, patient assessment skills, and documentation.

  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives; emergency protocols and guidelines; health care administration systems, governmental regulations and compliance requirements; and current computer systems and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Cover 176 shifts annually, with additional pay for extra shifts.
  • Administer anesthesia for a diverse mix of cases including Cardiac, Endo, General Surgery, Neuro, OB, Oncology, Ortho, Robotics, Spine, Vascular, and Level II Trauma.
  • Work within a staffing model of 40+ Anesthesiologists and 100+ CRNAs covering 70+ sites including Cath Lab, IR, and Endo.
  • Manage an average anesthesia volume of 65,000 cases annually.
  • Provide care under the oversight of physicians.
