About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join a collegial, community‑focused anesthesia practice supported by the strength of the Cleveland Clinic health system. This is a PRN position. Schedule will include a mix 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts. Union Hospital offers a diverse, high‑acuity community caseload across general surgery, orthopedics, OB, endoscopy, and procedural services, with consistent daily OR volume and strong utilization. CRNAs practice in a collaborative, medical‑direction model (1 anesthesiologist to 4 CRNAs) that supports both professional autonomy and team‑based care. Administers anesthetic care for the purpose of facilitating diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited CRNA program.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) and a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Current certification and continued professional certification (CPC) with the National Board of Certification Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) and State Board of Nursing endorsement.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Academy of Pediatrics certifications may be required based upon work setting.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
  • Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time and the ability to lift and transport patients.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.
  • Develops and implements an anesthetic plan of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.
  • Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phase anesthesia.
  • Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated.
  • Other duties as assigned.
