About The Position

This position involves providing anesthesia services at multiple St. David's Medical Center facilities in Austin, TX. The role requires a Master's degree in nurse anesthesia education and certification by the NBCRNA for CRNAs. For CAAs, a Bachelor's degree in Anesthesia or a related field and board certification by the AANA and NCCAA are required. The assignment is for 5 weeks, with an estimated privileging timeframe of 60 days. Case types include OB & Regional. Shifts are flexible (8s, 10s, 12s), with no in-house call, weeknight/weekend on call, or expected overtime. The CRNA/MD ratio is 4:1, and MDs are supervising CRNAs in 5 anesthesia rooms.

Requirements

  • Graduated with a Master's degree from an accredited program in nurse anesthesia education (for CRNA).
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Anesthesia or a related field from an accredited program (for CAA).
  • Certified or recertified by the National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) (for CRNA).
  • Board-certified by the AANA and NCCAA (for CAA).
  • Licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with a current, valid, unrestricted license in the state of Texas.
  • At least one full year (12 months) of experience as a CRNA.
  • Possess BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia services at St. David's Medical Center, St. David's North Austin Medical Center, St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, and St. David's South Austin Medical Center.
  • Administer anesthesia for OB and Regional cases.
  • Work flexible shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours.
  • Collaborate with supervising MDs.
