Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program (Master's or Doctoral degree).
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification in the state of Florida.
- National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification.
- Associate-level experience, with strong foundational skills in anesthesiology.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Proficiency in administering general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and anesthesia documentation systems.
- Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for working with diverse teams.
- Ability to adapt to varying schedules, on-call rotations, and surgical case mix.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and develop individualized anesthesia care plans.
- Administer anesthesia under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist.
- Monitor patients during anesthesia and manage emergence from anesthesia.
- Document all anesthesia-related information accurately and promptly.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide airway management as needed.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth procedural workflows.
- Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures and post-operative care.
- Ensure all anesthesia equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Adhere to institutional policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews as assigned.
