About The Position

The Veterinary Specialty Centre of Newfoundland and Labrador is the province’s only specialty referral center and full-service emergency hospital. We have the only board-certified radiologist in the province, regular locum board-certified surgeons, a CT scanner, as well as an MRI machine. We run a canine blood donor program and have the only ICU that is fully staffed 24 hours a day, Sunday – Thursday. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Board Certified Criticalist to join our exceptional team. Candidates who are completing their residency and are or will be board eligible are welcome to apply. Support will be provided to properly prepare for board exams. Our hospital offers a stimulating, fast-paced work environment where teamwork and high-quality care is at the heart of what we do. Outside a team that works together like family day-to-day, work–life balance is strongly encouraged and supported, as schedules are optimized to provide balance and minimize fatigue. By joining us, you’ll be able to enjoy downtime experiencing a wide variety of activities in the St John’s area of Newfoundland. From hiking trails and other outdoor adventures, whale watching and historical sites, to a vibrant downtown area with world-renowned restaurants, a thriving arts community, and a varied social scene. Our ideal candidate is client/patient centered, with strong communication and people skills. This person is self-motivated, confident in their medical abilities and able to collaborate with other doctors, as needed.
