AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the cloud runs smoothly. This involves supporting all AWS data centers and the associated servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The role requires collaboration with a diverse team of engineers, specialists, and managers to address complex challenges in the supply chain and deliver services with the highest standards of safety and security at the lowest possible cost. As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support for AWS Data Centers, from initial design through site improvement and maintenance. You will serve as the primary engineering resource for your region, offering technical advice and engaging with various teams to troubleshoot failures, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation. You will also support operational issues through training and procedure reviews, and contribute to conceptual designs for data center upgrades to enhance capacity, availability, efficiency, and sustainability. Additionally, you will interface with internal teams such as data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety to promote consistent and reliable service delivery. The role involves developing innovative solutions, managing concurrent projects across multiple regions, leading engineering audits with on-site visits, and acting as a resident engineer during new construction, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.
