About The Position

The Critical Facilities Technician is responsible, as part of a team, for ensuring that all cooling, mechanical, and supporting infrastructure—particularly in‑row heat exchangers—operates at peak efficiency to maintain strict thermal conditions for mission‑critical IT equipment. This includes conducting planned preventative maintenance, performing daily corrective work, troubleshooting in‑row cooling systems, and responding to emergent environmental or mechanical issues. The technician regularly interacts with Data Center Operators (DCOs), clients, and vendors while supporting a reliability standard exceeding 99.999% uptime. Although the primary focus is on high‑density in‑row heat exchangers, a foundational understanding of broader data center infrastructure—such as pumps, motors, VFDs, building automation systems, chilled water systems, and air‑handling equipment—is preferred. Additionally, the technician uses event monitoring systems to identify abnormalities and deliver timely notifications and escalations to stakeholders during service-impacting events.
