About The Position

Join Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization as a Critical Facilities Technician in Data Center Operations. IS&T is the engine behind Apple's global technology systems, supporting billions of active devices and ensuring the flawless operation of technology that defines modern life. Infrastructure Services, part of IS&T, manages data center equipment and systems to deliver compute, storage, and networking services. As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will address sophisticated topics related to facility maintenance and operation, generate innovative ideas, and ensure compliance with codes and standards. You will serve as an expert in your specialty, such as cooling or electrical systems, and contribute to infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

• Experience with mechanical, electrical and/or fire life safety systems
• Ability to read and interpret fire system, electrical system, and mechanical system drawings
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach and lift as required, on a continuous basis, with items that can weigh up to 75 lbs
• Ability to work extended hours within a Data Center Environment and typically within a heat range of 60 degrees Fahrenheit upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit while following OSHA driven work rest cycles.
• Ability to climb and use a ladder varying in types from A-Frame to extension ladders at various heights.

Nice To Haves

• 4+ years of related experience in a critical environment.
• Ability to perform practical applications of, preventative and corrective maintenance for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other infrastructure systems
• Understanding of hyper scale electrical and mechanical systems and NFPA70e and OSHA Regulations that pertain to data centers
• Knowledge of safety procedures, established techniques, and equipment
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to take initiative with minimal direction
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members and other departments

• Address sophisticated topics that craft how we maintain and operate our facilities.
• Generate ideas that push team members and senior leaders to expand the boundaries of innovation and technology.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Develop infrastructure improvements.
• Serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).
