About The Position

NVIDIA is hiring a Critical Facilities Mechanical Engineer to support AI Factory infrastructure deployments. The role works with industry partners, owners, designers, general contractors, and trade partners to assess modular deployment solutions and integrate mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for scalable, high-density AI facilities. The position supports deployments from procurement and factory production through installation, commissioning, and turnover, with a focus on reliable liquid-cooling and power interfaces, operational readiness, and incorporating deployment lessons into DSX reference architectures. The engineer reviews factory and site work, monitors installation quality, tracks and resolves scope gaps and conflicts, evaluates commissioning requirements and evidence, and supports handover of as-built records, operations and maintenance manuals, and operator training. Travel to factories and project sites may be required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
12+ years of progressively responsible MEP coordination, construction delivery, systems integration, or commissioning experience, including data centers or comparable critical facilities.
Experience as a general contractor MEP coordinator or MEP manager, coordinating multiple trades from preconstruction through turnover.
Hands-on knowledge of liquid-cooling systems for high-density AI racks, including CDUs and hydraulic connections.
Practical understanding of data center electrical distribution, UPS and backup power, and coordination between electrical and mechanical systems.
Understanding of controls integration, BMS and EPMS, and system failover.
Direct experience supporting Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning, including reviewing test scripts.
Ability to interpret MEP drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, and coordinated BIM models.
Practical understanding of relevant building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection standards.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to travel to factories and project sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience with modular or prefabricated data center deployments.
Delivery experience with liquid-cooled GPU clusters or NVIDIA accelerated-computing infrastructure.
Experience planning or witnessing coordinated tests of power loss, cooling interruption, and redundancy under representative loads.
Familiarity with Navisworks, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6, or equivalent tools.
Experience with digital twins or simulation for validating MEP interfaces and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

Assess modular deployment solutions from providers for alignment with DSX scalable deployment units.
Coordinate with owners, designers, general contractors, and trades to identify scope gaps and installation conflicts, and track actions through resolution.
Assess modular builds across MEP procurement, long-lead equipment, factory production, deliveries, installation sequencing, and commissioning.
Conduct factory and site reviews, monitor installation quality, and drive correction of deficiencies.
Coordinate liquid-cooling interfaces from facility water systems through CDUs, technology cooling loops, manifolds, and rack connections.
Coordinate power distribution interfaces with electrical specialists, including capacity, redundancy, grounding, and protection.
Integrate BMS, EPMS, and equipment controls to ensure accurate responses during normal operation and recovery.
Evaluate commissioning requirements with commissioning authorities, contractors, and OEMs; review scripts, prerequisites, and evidence before acceptance.
Manage factory-to-site module connections and support handover of as-built records, O&M manuals, and operator training.
Turn deployment lessons into DSX reference architectures.
