Requirements

• Accurate spelling required
• Medical terminology and abbreviations
• Keyboarding and computer skills
• Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with all age groups
• Must be able to keep calm under stress
• BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months
• Lethal dysrhythmia course within 6 months
• High school level of knowledge necessary

Nice To Haves

• Secretarial/clerical courses preferred
• Unit Clerk experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Read physicians' orders and transcribe them correctly
