About The Position

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics offers a Transition in Practice program for nurses looking to move into Critical Care/ICU. Nurses with more than one year of RN experience are eligible for this program, which is based on best practices and evidence-based education. The program includes a blend of online and instructor-led courses, 1:1 clinical precepting by an experienced RN, and focused sessions with an Education specialist to enhance learning and clinical reasoning. During the program, participants will work a .9 FTE (72 hours per biweekly pay period). Upon completion of the precepted portion, FTE and shift will be based on available positions, with a high probability of .9 FTE, Night shift. Overlake Medical Center and Clinics in Bellevue, WA, is seeking engaged, motivated, and compassionate RNs to join its patient-centric, 31-bed Critical Care Unit. This unit provides care to mixed specialties including open heart/thoracic surgery, neurology/neurosurgery, cardiology, pulmonary, trauma, and general medical surgical, and has been recognized by AACN with the Award for Unit Excellence. Overlake Medical Center is a 349-bed, nonprofit regional medical center employing nearly 3,000 people.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing
  • Current WA state RN license required
  • Healthcare provider BLS/CPR certifications
  • Completion of 1+ years cardiac telemetry experience
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills
  • RNs hired into units that require a competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation will be required to take a rhythm assessment in their first week, including standard cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmias and paced rhythms
  • Resume and a cover letter (explaining interest in the area applying) must be included
  • Proof of full COVID-19 immunization as a condition of employment, to be provided before the first day of employment
