About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and Director of Operations-Clinical, the Critical Care Transport Specialist (CCTS) is responsible for providing safe, effective, and comprehensive prehospital and interfacility care to patients transported by Boston MedFlight by air or ground. The CCTS functions as part of a high-performance clinical team, capable of responding to a wide variety of high-acuity medical scenarios.

Requirements

  • National Registry Paramedic and Massachusetts EMT-P certifications are required.
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
  • NRP required by the completion of orientation.
  • Current Real ID-compliant driver’s license, and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English without restriction.
  • Must pass FBI and/or CORI background check prior to starting employment.
  • Pre-employment physical required at BMF Occupation health provider.
  • Ability to pass annual physical examinations and Fit-for-Duty Test
  • Participation in random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This position requires current COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations, subject to medical or religious exemption requests.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of five (5) years of advanced prehospital experience preferred.
  • FP-C certification required within one year of employment.
  • Copy of highest-level diploma required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive and effective patient care to critically ill and injured patients in the transport medicine environment.
  • Maintain clinical skill proficiency, continuing education, and all certifications required to provide advanced-level medical care.
  • Uphold safety standards in accordance with Boston MedFlight and FAA requirements.
  • Complete all required patient care documentation accurately and in a timely manner per organizational policy.
  • Maintain a clean and fully stocked clinical and operational environment, including retrieving, cleaning, and restocking medical equipment.
  • Report on time for duty at assigned BMF base sites, including remote locations.
  • Maintain compliance with all Boston MedFlight policies and procedures.
  • Attend all required educational sessions.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively in both written and spoken formats.
  • Maintain positive interactions with patients, families, hospital staff, and BMF colleagues.
  • Support teamwork and demonstrate flexibility in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
  • Assist with data entry and administrative tasks.
  • Represent Boston MedFlight in public education, outreach, or marketing events.
  • Travel unrestricted as needed for mission requirements, training, or operational support.
