As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients presenting with various critical injuries, illnesses and concerns. In this role, fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your tireless efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers. A caregiver in this position works 6:30am to 6:30pm on a 4-week rotation. Requirements include every other weekend and holiday.

Requirements

  • Certification as an EMT-P (Paramedic) by the State of Ohio
  • Current certification as an EMT-P in the State of Ohio or National Registry Certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) basic life support (BLS) upon hire
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) upon hire
  • United States Passport upon hire
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS100, IS 200 within 6 months of hire
  • AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) provider, and ITLS advanced within 6 months of hire
  • Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) within 24 months of hire
  • Minimum of three years of EMT-P experience
  • Experience with airway management devices

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree
  • Prior IV skills, management of medication and blood administration

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate medical treatment to critically ill or injured patients throughout the interfacility or scene transport process.
  • Navigate an ambulance to respond to emergency calls.
  • Assess the nature and extent of the illness or injury, administer appropriate emergency medical care, communicate with medical personnel at the hospital, report/record observations and follow directives until report and hand-off at hospital.
