Cleveland Clinic's Critical Care Transport (CCT) team is recognized as a world leader in transporting critical patients anywhere around the globe. The CCT team is an expert team of critical care providers available 24/7 to transport critically ill and injured patients of all ages. By initiating tertiary care during transfer, outcomes are often improved for many critically ill patients. Caregivers in this role will work rotating hours from 6:30am to 6:30pm and 6:30pm - 6:30am on 4-week rotations. Every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program
  • Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) and FP-C (Flight Paramedic-Certified) within 2 years of hire
  • Current Valid Stat Driver’s License (VDL)
  • Passport within one year of hire
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an EMT-P required in a critical care setting as a flight or surface transport paramedic or in-hospital experience

  • Experience working in larger metropolitan areas
  • Emergency room or other critical care transport experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate medical treatment to critically ill or injured patients throughout the interfacility or scene transport process.
  • Navigate an ambulance to respond to emergency calls and maintain equipment on assigned mode of transportation.
  • Assess the nature and extent of the illness or injury, administer appropriate emergency medical care, communicate with medical personnel at the hospital, report/record observations and follow directives until report and hand-off at hospital.
