About The Position

As a member of the patient care team, performs a variety of technical and other direct care functions with the patient and family as delegated by the Registered Nurse. The Critical Care Technician (CCT) is competent to provide care to patients as further described, ranging from adolescents to geriatrics.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) or Degree of Higher Education
• If Nursing Student, 1 Clinical Rotation
• Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide, or CMA, or EMT
• Certified Nursing Assistant Certification - REQUIRED
• American Heart Association BLS Certification - REQUIRED

• Six Months of Hospital Experience

Responsibilities

• Participates in patient care and other unit activities under the direct supervision and guidance of the professional Registered Nurse (RN)
• Performs direct care activities, including bed baths, bed-making (occupied and un-occupied), assisting patients with meals, repositioning patient, ROM, and toileting.
• Ambulates patients utilizing appropriate patient supports, such as walkers, crutches, as ordered by M.D. or R.N.
• Participates on a departmental/unit-specific or a hospital committee/task force.
• Active participation in unit activities to improve & exceed patient/family satisfaction expectations.
• Performs related duties as required
