About The Position

As our Physician Fellow, you will perform professional medical duties while undergoing advanced specialized training, operating under the general supervision of teaching faculty and community physicians at our medical center and other participating sites. Every day, you will provide high-quality medical care within your advanced training scope. You will meticulously complete all patient care documents in an accurate and timely manner as required by the medical center, fellowship program management, and other participating sites. Furthermore, you will actively foster an environment of inquiry and scholarship, regularly participating in organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, and conferences, while also encouraging and supporting residents in their scholarly activities. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a deep commitment to advanced medical learning and patient care, exceptional attention to detail in documentation, and a proactive approach to fostering an academic environment. Your ability to integrate advanced medical knowledge with practical application, contribute to scholarly activities, and collaborate effectively with both supervising physicians and developing residents will be essential for your professional growth and the quality of our medical education programs.

Requirements

  • LLMC or equivalent accredited medical school degree
  • Successful completion of appropriate primary specialty residency training
  • Board eligible/board certification in primary specialty
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 30 Days

  • Demonstrate competence appropriate to the level of training in the judgment of the faculty in the management of patient care within SJMC and other affiliated hospitals, including primary care problems, normal obstetrics, health maintenance, and the appropriate use of supervisors, consultants, and community resources.
