About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) in an inpatient setting. The NP will cover an 18-bed ICU with an average census of 8 patients. The role requires the ability to perform procedures, with support from in-house anesthesia and night-time Tele-ICU Physician coverage. The facility is a Level III trauma center. The position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) role.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty.
• Willing to await licensure.
• National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]).
• Board certification.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum 1-year Critical Care experience or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty is preferred for locum APP positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage for an 18-bed ICU.
• Manage an average patient census of 8.
• Perform required procedures.
• Collaborate with in-house anesthesia and Tele-ICU Physician coverage.
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations.
