About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Critical Care Medicine Physician in Cape Girardeau, MO. The role involves providing 12-hour in-house day shift coverage in the ICU from August 6, 2026, to September 15, 2026. The physician will manage an average of 8-14 patients per day, perform critical care procedures, manage ventilated patients, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team. Documentation will be done using the Epic EMR system.
Requirements
- Board Certified
- Licensed in MO
- ATLS certification
- Critical Care certification
- Ability to perform intubation
- Ability to perform insertion of Central line
- Ability to perform insertion of Arterial line
Responsibilities
- Provide 12-hour in-house day shift coverage in the ICU.
- Perform critical care procedures including intubation, arterial line insertion, central line placement, and chest tube insertion.
- Manage ventilated patients and acute volume/BP issues.
- Round on assigned patients and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
- Document encounters in Epic EMR and ensure timely hand-offs.
