About The Position

The CCBYS Crisis Worker is responsible for performing crisis duty between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. This role assists in the planning, delivery, and administration of the crisis program in accordance with the Agency's stated purpose. The Crisis Worker provides direct service to clients as needed and appropriate. CCBYS is a program run by DCFS that provides crisis intervention, follow-up, and placement (when necessary) to youth between the ages of 11 and 17.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral or social science (social work, sociology, psychology guidance and counseling or closely related discipline).

  • Prior experience as a crisis worker is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing the weekday crisis services as per CCBYS guidelines.
  • Keeping accurate data, notes, and documentation on crisis call outs as per CCBYS guidelines, including inputting data into the GOALS data base.
  • Case coordination (either in house or between outside agencies), therapeutic follow-up, connecting clients to needed resources, “hand offs” of the crisis case when appropriate, and providing backup clinical consultation on agency clients.
  • Collaborating, coordinating, and providing outreach and psycho-education with outside agencies such as DCFS, police departments, psychiatric hospitals, youth shelters, external family members, etc.
  • Assisting in the coordination and development of community training and staff in-service training as it pertains to the crisis program.
  • Assisting in the development of procedures, policies and forms necessary to maintain the crisis program.
  • Representing the agency at external networking meetings maintaining a collaborative relationship.
  • Coordinating the gathering of program outcome data.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
