About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of service in Spokane, dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment for a wide range of behavioral health issues to adults, youth, and seniors. As a Trauma-Informed Care Organization, FBH believes in recovery and empowering clients to lead fulfilling lives. This role is part of the Crisis Call Diversion initiative, focusing on the collaboration between public safety answering points (PSAPs) and 988 centers to ensure individuals in crisis receive appropriate support. The position is located in Spokane, WA, with potential for remote work after initial in-person training and demonstrated core competencies. The specific shift is part-time (.6 FTE) on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with a shift differential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the Behavioral Health field
  • Must submit for a Counselor Agency Affiliated – Registered credential from the WA State Department of Health within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience serving individuals with behavioral health needs
  • Experience with crisis intervention, including risk assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Receive warm transfer calls from 911, PSAPs, emergency dispatchers, and/or law enforcement.
  • Conduct risk assessments to determine if the caller is at risk for suicide, homicide, and/or grave disability.
  • Develop safety plans with or on behalf of individuals in crisis.
  • Collaborate with individuals, families, and community partners to develop and implement alternatives to hospitalization.
  • Assist with inpatient treatment linkage, referrals to services and resources, and mobile crisis response teams or Designated Crisis Responders.
  • Provide crisis triage services to individuals requesting assistance or via third-party referral sources.
  • Manage multiple calls professionally and engagingly.
  • Assist clinical staff with follow-up phone calls as requested and appropriate.
  • Complete comprehensive documentation that supports the safety plan.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of community resources and the ability to access them.
  • Accept delegation and follow through with specific expanded assignments and responsibilities within the FBH system.
  • Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner.
