About The Position

Spring River Mental Health & Wellness, Inc. is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic located in Cherokee County, KS. This position will provide crisis services throughout Cherokee County with the primary office location in Riverton, KS. Spring River is a National Health Service Corp. Site for HRSA Loan Repayment Opportunities for qualifying individuals. The Crisis Therapist will provide crisis and emergency response services for children and adults. This includes quickly assessing the nature and degree of the mental health crisis, providing crisis counseling and intervention, and conducting emergency assessments and pre-hospital screenings. The role involves assisting individuals and families in accessing resources to mediate crises, maintaining supportive services until the crisis is resolved or other services are engaged, and coordinating services with crisis case managers and other treatment team members. Responsibilities also include completing mental health intakes, timely completion of service notes and other required documentation in the electronic health record, and timely submission of screening, preadmission assessments, and other crisis response documentation. The position may also assist with critical incident stress debriefings and act as a liaison to law enforcement, the medical community, and other referral resources. Additionally, the Crisis Therapist will serve in the afterhours Mobile Crisis Response team (MCR) rotation 4-5 weeks per year and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Operates efficiently in a variety of settings and offices.
  • Remain positive and flexible under work pressure.
  • Sound judgement in crisis and routine situations.
  • Proficient with computers and word processing.
  • Timely completion of EHR documentation and other written documents.
  • Graduation from an accredited university with current active license or ability for licensure through the Kansas Behavior Sciences Regulatory Board as a LMLP, LCP, LPC, LCPC, LMSW, LSCSW, LMFT, LCMFT.
  • Successful completion of professional references, background checks, child and adult abuse registry checks, motor vehicle record check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities
