As a non-profit community mental health center serving southeastern Jackson County, Missouri, we’re passionate about helping individuals impacted by mental illness or substance use find hope, support, and healing. About the Urgent Care Program: The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of it's kind in the Kansas City area that provides the community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health)
  • Active clinical license in the State of Missouri, which includes: Psychologist, License Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred.
  • Provisionally licensed individuals may be considered with contingency to receive licensure within a determined timeframe.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a direct service provision in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Ability to work a consistent and regular schedule of 9:00 am – 9:00 pm on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday with alternating Fridays from 9:00 am – 5:30 pm.
  • Familiarity with mental illness and substance use disorders
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfort with electronic health records and intermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and the use of email)

Responsibilities

  • This is a working supervisor position that combines team leadership responsibilities with direct client care, including providing clinical assessments and meeting established productivity expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal leaders and community partners—including healthcare providers, law enforcement, courts, managed care organizations, and referral sources—to ensure timely access to services and positive outcomes for those we serve.
  • Monitor program performance and prepare reports, recommendations, and updates for organizational leadership and funding partners.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement efforts to enhance service quality, operational effectiveness, and client outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, contractual, and organizational standards while supporting the financial health and sustainability of assigned programs.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for growth, improve processes, and strengthen program performance.
