About The Position

The Crisis Shift Lead will assist the Director of Crisis Services with clinical and administrative oversight of programs and services. This includes managing staffing shifts, filling job vacancies, and supervising shift leads. The role involves monitoring the quality and timely submission of clinical documentation, providing ongoing support and supervision to Shift Leaders, and ensuring new staff are properly oriented and trained. The Crisis Shift Lead will also train staff on documentation requirements, disseminate pertinent information, and provide training to team members to ensure consistency across shifts. Additionally, this role will assist shift leads with case support, including identifying client needs, coordinating services, and preparing discharge plans. The Crisis Shift Lead will ensure all shift duties, such as shift notes and bed checks, are completed and documented, and that necessary documentation within Credible is maintained for Utilization Management (UM) staff. Communication with UM Staff regarding new admits and discharges, and ensuring timely completion of discharge summaries are also key responsibilities. Finally, the role includes conducting monthly chart reviews and providing feedback to shift leads.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assists Director of Crisis Services with clinical and administrative oversight of programs and services, including staffing shifts, filling job vacancies, and supervising shift leads.
  • Monitors quality, completion, and timely submission of clinical assessments, treatment plans, outcome measurements, discharge summaries, and other required documentation and reports.
  • Assists Director of Crisis Services in providing ongoing support, instruction, and supervision to Shift Leaders on all shifts.
  • Supports shift leads in completing and documenting the treatment/service plan at the time the client enters the service.
  • Works with team members for treatment planning, including describing strengths, preferences, and needs, and identifying treatment goals and strategies for each client assigned.
  • Ensures that all new staff are properly oriented upon hire and participate in agency training as required.
  • Re-orients existing staff on paperwork and unit requirements as needed.
  • Provides training for staff on documentation requirements and ensures all staff meet minimum documentation standards.
  • Assists Director of Crisis Services with ensuring Supervision Plans and Logs are completed per requirements.
  • Assists Director of Crisis Services with disseminating pertinent information to all staff.
  • Provides training to team members with a focus on consistency across shifts.
  • Assists shift leads with case support by identifying additional services needed for client care, coordinating and collaborating with relevant services, preparing, and discussing discharge plans with each client assigned.
  • Works with the team to ensure shift notes, 15-minute bed checks, and all other required shift duties are complete and documented before the end of the shift.
  • Ensures necessary documentation within Credible is completed so that UM staff can perform their duties for the MCOs.
  • Communicates with UM Staff about all new admits and discharges and ensures discharge summaries are completed within Credible.
  • Conducts chart reviews monthly and provides feedback to shift leads as needed.
