About The Position

The 988 Program provides 24/7 mobile community outreach services to adults in crisis, including mental health, substance use, and suicidal emergencies. Staff dispatch to crises in teams of two, with a Crisis Response Specialist and a Peer Support Specialist, to provide assessment, risk assessment, safety planning, linkage to services, and follow-up care. The Program aims to provide crisis de-escalation without use of law enforcement unless necessary for consumer or team safety.

Requirements

Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health related field from an accredited institution plus two years post Bachelor's professional experience.
Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in any field from an accredited institution with three years’ post Bachelor’s professional experience in a mental health field.
Demonstrate competency in culturally appropriate care, trauma informed care, de-escalation techniques, suicide assessment, and safety planning prior to rendering services independently.
Driver's license must be in good standing, with no recent suspensions or violations of careless/reckless driving or excessive speeding of more than 20 MPH, and no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

Evaluating consumers and deciding if additional psychological, psychiatric, or clinical services are needed.
Activating the on-call Master’s Level Clinician for additional support when needed.
Providing assessment, risk assessment, safety planning, linkage to services, and follow-up care.
Providing crisis de-escalation without use of law enforcement unless necessary for consumer or team safety.
