About The Position

Kansas Children's Service League (KCSL) is seeking a full-time Crisis Nursery Case Manager in Wichita, KS. KCSL, founded in 1893, is a statewide, nonprofit agency dedicated to protecting and promoting the well-being of children. Their programs focus on health, safety, and education to help children and families break cycles of neglect, abuse, and trauma, empowering them with skills for success. KCSL is the Kansas chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and Circle of Parents. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field.
  • Case management experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish / English

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management services to parents and their children seeking assistance through the Crisis Nursery.
  • Complete assessment information and an individualized family service plan.
  • Make referrals to community resources that will accentuate strengths as well as address needs.
  • Meet families in their current home environment.
  • Assess child and family utilizing interview and standardized assessments and complete an individualized family service plan with family.
  • Meet with family and child and gather information from family members and collaterals for the development of the service plan.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of strengths and needs and identify resources through home visits, phone calls or other engagement strategies.
  • Provide case management services to the family to maintain the children in their homes.
  • Continuously assess progress and identify areas of need compromising the child’s ability to remain in the home.
  • Assist family in managing crisis situations due to financial, psychological, legal, medical or any other circumstances that present a danger to youth’s well-being.
  • Keep referral sources and family resource outlets informed of program.
  • Provide staff support to REAL Support workgroup including tracking data and purchasing supplies.
