The Crisis Line Advocate provides over the phone advocacy, shelter navigation, and resources and referrals to those fleeing violence through the Northeast Iowa (Region 3). This role involves identifying and pursuing safe alternatives to hotel stays, providing advocacy, crisis counseling, and access to crisis services and housing programs to callers on our crisis line. The advocate will also support the crisis services team in navigating safe shelter options and diversion strategies for survivors of violence, and provide victim advocacy, crisis counseling, and education to survivors of violence staying at Friends House. Compliance with data tracking and documentation requirements is essential. This position works remotely and provides virtual support.
