The Crisis Intervention Consultant Student Assistant within Housing & Residence Life is responsible for creating educational materials, basic workshops, and continuing education trainings for staff related to mental health such as mediation, basic counseling skills, and stress management. They will provide intervention and consultation, both on-site and over the phone, for residents and Housing & Residence Life staff. The role includes serving in an on-call rotation to foster a culture of continuous care, responding to student concerns and emergencies utilizing established crisis management and response protocols. Additionally, the consultant will coordinate with staff and campus partners to assess needs, resolve crises, and connect residents with appropriate resources, observe, document, and report concerns and policy violations, complete administrative tasks, and maintain current knowledge of Housing & Residence Life policies and procedures. The position requires attendance at all scheduled staff meetings, trainings, and supervisory meetings, as well as participation in required staff development and compliance training modules.
