About The Position
Direct Support Professionals provide support and supervision to individuals who have developmental, mental health, or physical disabilities. This role involves assisting individuals with daily routines, personal care, and community engagement, while also managing challenging behaviors. The position offers a rewarding experience where you can make a difference in people's lives and build meaningful relationships.
Requirements
- Be 18 years or older.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Have access to an insured vehicle.
- Have a clean driving record.
- Pass a DHS background study.
- Exhibit basic computer skills to be successful in this position.
- Willing to provide personal cares (assisting individuals with bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming).
- Comfortable working with Challenging Behaviors.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma preferred.
- One year of experience delivering services to individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Helps to establish and keep community relationships and friendships.
- Assists individuals with daily routines including, but not limited to, household tasks, cooking and eating, individual self-care, socializing, use of leisure time, health and safety, money management and behavior management.
- Administers medications.
- Provides transportation.
- Documents services and events through an online computer program.
