About The Position

Centerstone is a leading nonprofit behavioral health system dedicated to providing life-changing care. This is a hybrid-remote, grant-funded position through February 2027, offering rewarding opportunities to serve all ages. Centerstone is a trauma-informed organization that fosters a culture of understanding, recognizing, and responding to trauma to strengthen resilience. The Crisis Counselor will provide crisis counseling to individuals affected by natural disasters (floods & tornadoes) in Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, and Montgomery Counties. The role involves providing resource connection, short-term supportive counseling, long-term counseling referrals, and coping advice for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis related to these disasters.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license is required.
Experience as a Mental Health Counselor providing clinical screenings, crisis intervention services, or conducting clinical intake assessments preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in a related field of Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide telephonic or in-person screenings, risk assessments, resource linkage, and crisis intervention.
Meet ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation.
Attend team meetings, in-service training, supervision, and other quality assurance training.
Demonstrate high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette.
Provide service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
Promote a departmental culture of cooperation and collaboration with other cross-functional departments, community agencies, hospitals, mental health consumers, and the public at large.
Assist in administrative tasks as needed.
