About The Position

JAMHI Health & Wellness, Inc. is seeking a mission-driven and dedicated on-site Crisis Clinician who can help our organization thrive as we help people live their own best lives. We’re looking for a collaborative, compassionate professional with a passion for supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and a commitment to person-centered care. Join us as a Crisis Clinician and provide timely crisis assessment, risk assessment, intervention, de-escalation, stabilization, safety planning, and disposition in our Behavioral Health Crisis Walk-In/Urgent Care setting. You will assess behavioral health, substance use, medical, safety, social, and functional needs and connect individuals with the least restrictive, clinically appropriate level of care. You will collaborate with psychiatric providers, the Crisis Lead, Mobile Crisis Team, hospitals, emergency departments, JAMHI treatment teams, and community partners to coordinate referrals, warm handoffs, follow-up care, and other supports. Additional responsibilities include short-term stabilization services, identifying barriers to care, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, participating in interdisciplinary consultation, and contributing to quality improvement, training, and crisis program development.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or another behavioral health discipline appropriate to the role.
  • Active Alaska state licensure or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • One year of experience in crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, de-escalation, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health assessment.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with the current state regulation requirements.
  • A valid Alaska driver’s license and be able to clear the JAMHI auto insurance screening through the independent insurance carrier if driving.

Responsibilities
