About The Position

This position provides transportation and support for clients traveling to appointments, treatment centers, inpatient hospitals, and other necessary services. The Crisis Attendant Care professional will remain with clients during transportation and, when appropriate, during appointments or admissions to provide support and ensure continuity of care. This role involves observing and reporting changes in client behavior, mood, or functioning to the appropriate clinical staff, and assisting clients with admissions, discharges, paperwork, and coordination of services as directed. Maintaining ongoing communication with the Crisis Team regarding client status, transportation delays, safety concerns, and service needs is crucial. The position also requires ensuring client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies, completing accurate and timely documentation, and following all agency safety procedures, infection control guidelines, and emergency response protocols. A key aspect of this role is maintaining knowledge of community behavioral health resources and referral options.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass KBI, DCF child & adult abuse check, motor vehicle screen, and background checks.
  • If using a personal vehicle for work, must have reliable, insured transportation that is properly registered and compliant with all applicable state and local requirements.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently in the community.
  • Proficient with computers and word processing.
  • Ability to assist clients entering and exiting vehicles.
  • Ability to respond appropriately during behavioral health emergencies.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle as part of routine job functions.
  • Ability to use a computer and software as part of routine job functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs as part of routine job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education in behavioral health, psychology, human services, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company or personal vehicles responsibly, in accordance with all traffic laws, regulations, and organizational safety policies for work-related travel.
