Manuel Diaz Law Firm, PC. is a multi-practice law firm dedicated to guiding and empowering our community through exceptional legal services. We are seeking a self-motivated, bilingual (English/Spanish) Paralegal to join our Criminal Defense Department. This role provides a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney, supporting clients and their families during challenging times. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others, builds trust easily, and is driven to achieve goals while delivering exceptional service.

Requirements

Experience as legal assistant or legal secretary
Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system
Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
Computer literacy
Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with the ability to effectively interpret conversations in a professional and legal setting.
Working knowledge of case management software
Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness
Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
Administratively support and attend trials when needed
Prepare case briefs and summarize depositions, interrogatories and testimony
Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research
Locate and develop case relevant information
Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
Answer and direct phone calls
Maintain contact lists
Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars
Provide accurate Spanish/English interpretation for attorneys, clients, witnesses, and other individuals during in-office and out-of-office meetings and proceedings.
