About The Position

The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probation and Parole (DP3) is recruiting for a Criminal Justice Technician 1/2 position for the DOC Training Academy in Palmer, Alaska. This position supports the DP3 training academy staff as well as all DP3 employees in many aspects. The Alaska Department of Corrections Division of Pretrial, Probation & Parole Training Academy enhances the safety of the residents in the State of Alaska and the employees of the Department, providing training for the Department's pretrial, probation and parole professionals. The Academy provides a structured adult learning-based model, centered on providing the State of Alaska with qualified and trained staff personnel. These trained professionals are prepared to address the numerous challenges facing the supervision of the offender population and their successful reintegration back into the community. This position is located at the DOC Training Academy in Palmer, Alaska, where the incumbent works in an office environment alongside academy instructors and staff. Daily work includes supporting training and certification operations through course development assistance, document preparation, records maintenance, and data compilation.
