About The Position

The Mission of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement (LCLE) is to improve the operations of the criminal justice and juvenile justice system and promote public safety by providing progressive leadership and coordination within the criminal justice community. We are currently seeking a dedicated Criminal Justice Policy Planner to oversee compliance, conduct program monitoring, and provide technical guidance for federally and state-funded initiatives across Louisiana. In this role, you will evaluate reports, conduct on-site reviews, and provide critical policy planning and research support to local agencies, advisory boards, and the Governor's Special Purpose Criminal Justice Commission. Requirements

• Three years of experience in criminal justice, policy planning or analysis, law enforcement, legal research, contracts or grants management, statistical analysis, or program auditing; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree.
• Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Review quarterly program reports and conduct on-site monitoring for state-level and local subgrant agencies to ensure adherence to federal and state guidelines.
• Provide guidance and support to authorized officials and program staff regarding reporting requirements, data collection, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform independent policy research, analyze data, and keep abreast of current regulations to evaluate criminal justice programs statewide.
• Meet with subgrant recipients to resolve areas of concern and recommend appropriate courses of action or procedural changes to ensure compliance.
• Provide dedicated staff support and research activities for Advisory Boards, Committees, and Task Forces.
