About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Operations and Management Consultant Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with the administration and resolution of operational and management problems as they relate to criminal justice information. Additionally, this position provides research and analysis relative to state and national laws, rules and regulations that directly and indirectly impact the maintenance or dissemination of criminal justice information. This position must meet and maintain a National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

  • Ability to communicate effectively; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases and resources;
  • Assisting management in the creation and maintenance of operational procedures to ensure section materials are up to date and available to section members;
  • Assisting management in the quality assurance of criminal history records;
  • Conducting analysis of documentation gathered for specialized requests and assisting in the determination of impact of proposed law or rules changes;
  • Serving as liaison with Office of General Counsel (OGC) to receive direction and clarification on interpretation and department position for legal decisions;
  • Assisting management in the tracking of section standards and workload statistics to produce departmental, divisional and section level performance reports;
  • Conducting research and analysis for special projects related to the division strategic goals or as assigned by management;
  • Collaborating with internal and external customers to gather documentation required to formulate a recommendation as required and within defined timeframes;
  • Maintaining liaison with local, state and federal agencies and the public by means of telephone, correspondence or personal contact; and
  • Drafting detailed written notifications to customers regarding complex questions or concerns.
