The Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) is seeking a Criminal Investigator for its Auto Industry Division. This role is responsible for ensuring licensees comply with state statutes and regulations concerning the motor vehicle dealer board, as well as various federal laws. The investigator will conduct complex investigations involving financial records and document-heavy cases, and will also be tasked with providing information, training, education, and outreach to stakeholders including licensees, the public, and other governmental agencies. The Auto Industry Division processes license applications, collects fees, conducts background investigations, and investigates alleged violations of statutes and regulations, as well as unlicensed and criminal activities within the auto industry. Each year, the Division receives a significant number of consumer complaints related to law violations or regulations. The investigator will also conduct compliance investigations and provide educational services.
