About The Position

This position is in the Intelligence Watch and Warning (Days) section and is a full-time position. This position works closely with confidential intelligence and investigative information relating to law enforcement operations.

Requirements

  • Four years of experience (Crime Intelligence Analyst I)
  • Five years of experience (Crime Intelligence Analyst II)
  • Seven years of analytical experience (Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst I)
  • Nine years of analytical experience (Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst II)
  • Experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or in a law enforcement agency.
  • Analytical experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or investigative experience in a law enforcement agency.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of experience.
  • A master’s degree in criminology, law enforcement intelligence analysis, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis or comparable discipline; or a professional certificate in one of these disciplines can substitute for one year of experience.
  • Completion of a 720-hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in law enforcement can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate a variety of documents which contain information or evidence
  • Ability to conduct trend analysis, assessments, and crime
  • Skill in setting and following leads, researching records, and reconstructing events, and the ability to prepare reports of findings
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory provisions relating to the investigation and analysis of specific documents and records
  • Writing skills to clearly and factually present complex and interrelated information in investigative reports
  • Good oral communication and personal skills
  • Knowledge of operating microcomputers and the different available software programs
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding interviews and take statements

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing incoming tips for the Fortify FL School Safety App
  • Researching, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating pertinent data related to illegal activities involving school safety
  • Developing profiles of subjects from the analysis of information
  • Preparing assessments and crime briefs
  • Designing and developing databases and files for processing microcomputer equipment to collate and correlate investigative data pertinent to the analysis of the documents
  • Retrieving spreadsheet data in varying formats which facilitates the efficient utilization of resources in the review of items applicable to the investigation
  • Coordinating with other regulatory and law enforcement agencies reference intelligence
  • Keeping abreast of new sources of information, developments and technology
  • Assembling and arranging documents for trial purposes and preparing a variety of related reports, graphs, charts and exhibits and otherwise assists investigative personnel and prosecutors with grand jury and trial
