About The Position

The Crew Scheduling Supervisor is directly responsible to the SOC Manager. The ultimate responsibility for this position is the daily supervision and support of the Crew Scheduling department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of 117, 121, and 135 regulations including, but not limited to, duty time restrictions
  • Previous 121/125/135 industry management appropriate to the tasks of this position
  • Excellent organizational skills, required
  • Excellent internal/external customer service skills, required
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in any situation
  • Must be willing to work any/all shifts required

  • FAA Aircraft Dispatch Certificate preferred

Responsibilities

  • In absence of the SOC Manager, acts in his/her place
  • Supervises the Crew Scheduling operation by providing direction and support as needed
  • Coordinates with Flight Followers, Dispatchers, and Crew Scheduling during irregular operations to ensure effective operational performance
  • Oversees the completion of the daily company flight schedule
  • Exercises delegated authority for the daily leadership of the Crew Scheduling department, including the supervision of personnel assigned to him/her and the scheduling of Crew Scheduling personnel
  • Exercises delegated authority for the crew planning process and the daily scheduling of crewmembers
  • Assists SOC Manager with performance reviews for Crew Schedulers
  • Assists the SOC Manager with the payroll function for dispatchers, flight followers and crew schedulers
  • Works with SOC Manager to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes in the operation
  • Participates in the development of an annual budget for Crew Scheduling
  • Keeps the Customer Care Department informed of pertinent information during irregular operations
  • Ensures the set up of hotel accommodations and rental cars for crewmembers laying over or on TDY assignments in accordance with company rules
  • Ensures the set up of hotel accommodations and other necessary provisions for Crew Scheduling personnel, in coordination with the SOC Supervisors, who are working during times of extreme weather
  • Complete Supervisor turnover at the end of work week
  • Reviews crew daily schedules to ensure legality
  • Monitors daily schedule of Crew Scheduling departments to ensure proper coverage
  • In the event of a Crew Scheduling sick call, the Supervisor will activate the reserve coverage. If there is no reserve coverage, the Supervisor will cover the shift
  • Provides for continued analysis of job methods and techniques to improve efficiency and economy of the operation
  • Provides the necessary training for Crew Schedulers on FAR and company work rules for crewmembers
  • Participates in the manpower planning for crewmembers and the planning for the flight schedule
  • Monitors master schedules changes for legalities to ensure FAR compliance
  • Provides input for sufficient reserve crewmember coverage for unplanned absences
  • Maintains a caring and open dialog with all crewmembers and staff
  • Performs tasks assigned by the On-Call Duty Manager
  • Performs duties required in the Emergency Response Manual as needed
  • Manages irregular operations by determining the best utilization of available crew and aircraft resources
  • Coordinates with Crew Scheduling to resolve crew issues (e.g. sick and fatigue calls, duty time issues, etc.)
  • Coordinates with MOC to resolve aircraft missions (e.g. paint, regional repos, etc.)
  • Uses company procedures in accordance with regulatory and company restrictions to determine if a pilot's schedule can be changed
  • Contacts pilots in the event their schedule is changed
  • Contacts Duty Manager for required events
  • Keeps Flight Followers informed of irregular operations and recoveries as events unfold, as opposed to a briefing after the fact
  • Additional duties as assigned
