About The Position

The City of Greensboro Water Resources Department is seeking a dependable and skilled Crew Member (Truck Driver) to support essential water and sewer infrastructure projects across our community. This role involves safely transporting materials such as dirt, rock, sand, gravel, and cold mix to and from job sites, hauling away debris, and assisting in moving equipment like backhoes. The position is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of Greensboro's infrastructure and public services.

Requirements

High School Diploma/G.E.D or an equivalency of 5 years of directly related work experience in construction field.
1 year experience in a construction environment.
Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License.
Fork Lift License.

Responsibilities

Safely transport materials such as dirt, rock, sand, gravel, and cold mix to and from job sites.
Haul away debris and materials to the landfill.
Assist in moving equipment, including backhoes, from one job to another.
Operate various types of equipment and trucks to deliver or remove materials.
Transport safety equipment such as shoring tubes, boxes, and shields to job sites.
Follow safe work zone practices and identify safety concerns to the Crew Supervisor.
Perform physical duties such as loading and unloading, and operating equipment in various conditions.
Maintain a reliable means of communication (e.g., home or cellular phone).
Participate in an on-call rotation every 4–6 weeks and be available for overtime and emergency response.
Support overall crew operations with flexibility and professionalism.
