About The Position

This position involves supervising assigned employees, providing on-site direction, and performing similar duties. Responsibilities include street maintenance, refuse collection, and operating various machinery. The role also involves training new employees, ensuring safety procedures are followed, and maintaining records.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Three (3) years' experience in Streets and Drainage Division - Street maintenance groundskeepers, refuse collection, driver-operator, light and heavy equipment and servicing equipment.
Hold a current and valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A).
Applicant must be able to operate the following equipment proficiency: Knuckle boom, Chainsaw, Boom Truck, and Stump Grinder.

Responsibilities

Supervise the activities of assigned employees.
Provide on-site directions and/or assignments to crew while also performing the same, similar or related duties.
Cut thick grass or weeds and resurface.
Repair streets.
Remove waste from refuse trucks and oversee systematic collection of refuse.
Operate grading machines, street sweeping and flushing machines, tractors, packer-type trucks, flat bed trucks, trucks with trailers, or other assigned vehicles.
Use weed eaters, lawn mowers, etc.
Inspect operation of machinery and equipment.
Train new employees.
Initiate requests for supplies.
Submit work and time reports, and maintain related records.
Train and orient new workers.
Ensure safety procedures are followed.
Recommend personnel actions.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
