About The Position

DCS Asset Maintenance is seeking a Crew Leader to conduct a variety of Highway Maintenance Services, as well as other related task. We are seeking a qualified applicant that will train in Highway/Roadway Routine Maintenance.

Requirements

Five (5) years of infrastructure maintenance and/or construction experience.
Demonstrated experience planning and monitoring the work activities of field personnel providing highway construction and/or maintenance activities.
Must be able to prepare timesheets and/or reports via hardcopy written documentation.
Thorough knowledge of practices, materials, methods and equipment used in routine highway maintenance activities.
Working knowledge of the Department’s Standard Plans for Road and Bridge Construction and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and other traffic control procedures for work zones.
Working knowledge of the operation, repair and maintenance of equipment supplied by the Contractor and other equipment utilized in performing the activities defined in the scope of work.
Ability to clearly communicate orally and written in English.
Willing to possess a current Florida Department of Agriculture Commercial Applicator’s license with the categories of licensure in Right-of-Way Pest Control and Aquatic Pest Control.
Successful completion of an FDOT approved Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) advanced course and always maintain the TTC certificate or card on their person while performing work.

Responsibilities

Clean and clear culverts.
Mowing, and clearing brush from roadsides.
Patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders.
Assist in storm cleanup.
Fence and sign repair.
Litter/debris removal.
Emergency response.
Operate equipment used in Highway Maintenance.
Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
Use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
